CrossPointe

Wow, where do I even begin! It was such a great week with CrossPointe Community Church! They were an AMAZING group, who did so much for the kingdom of God. We did all of our weekly Bible studies which they did a carnival for, bought and gave out school supplies, and did an awesome skit about the prodigal son, the lost coin, and the lost sheep. It was a beautiful week. On top of that they did hospital ministry in one of the hospitals in Lima, helped kick off a new art ministry by generously buying stuff from all of the people involved in the art ministry, and did a beach bash cookout for my neighborhood. It was an incredible week, with a group of people with great attitudes, servants hearts, and they were just so much fun. One neighbor told me yesterday, "It wasn't that they gave out candy at the carnival, it was that they were so enthusiastic!"  He loved the drama, it had really impacted him. That comment really convicted me to be more passionate and excited when I teach people about Jesus. They did so much for us here, and also just encouraged us so much as missionaries. I already personally knew really well half of the team, so it was great to see my good friends. Then I had the awesome privilege to get to know 6 new friends, who extremely blessed my life as well. Below are the pics from various people that took pics during the week. Pictures always speak louder than words! We are so thankful for CrossPointe Community Church for coming down even though most people that go to CrossPointe didn't even know me before. Thanks for taking a leap of faith and coming down to serve the Lord in Peru with us! We are excited for future trips to come!

Meesh!!!

I had the great privilege to have Michelle Frost come to visit me about a week before the CrossPointe team came, and then she was going to stay and do the mission trip with them. It was SO much fun and SO productive. She did all kinds of amazing things. First day there, she made an emergency hospital visit with us and helped me make a presentation about Israel in Spanish. That was a year overdue, yet since we had gone together to Israel, she was able to help me in a huge way. Then she got to experience the neighborhood Bible study and discipleship time.

Meesh!
Then the next day, we took her to the exciting Peru immigration office, to pay some awesome Peruvian taxes.
That afternoon, we had a girls day watching movies and eating yummy food from the states that she had brought. On Tuesday, we got a ton of stuff organized for the group and she made my newsletter for me! She made a huge list of everything that we had to get done and we got it all done besides one thing that only I could do. She is amazing!
Then on Wednesday, we got to go to Huaral, and she was able to experience our weekly Bible studies there.

The awesome craft that Michelle and Jessi came up with for the kids to make.
Then on Thursday, a little bit of cleaning, then girl time at Chili's and ice cream! She even bought our Chilis! I have known Michelle for more than 10 years, and she is such a sweet and loyal friend. She is such a hard worker and has an incredible attitude. While I was griping about all the random things I had to do, she was just there ready to jump in help me. We had so much fun with her. I am so grateful that she continues coming to visit me in Peru, that means so much to me. This is her 4th time to Peru! Wow, God has blessed me with such great friends!

Dicipleship group update

Discpleship has been going so good lately. Last night we had Marina's husband come again! He has now been coming for 2 weeks. It looks like he is searching  We had another neighbor come as well and several times we have had our downstairs landlord come with her family members. Also, the Christians are doing really good. They are learning the books of the Bible and scripture memory. We are starting to give homework every week and go deeper in studying. We are expecting more from the Christians each week as far as learning more from the Bible. We had a really beautiful time of praise and worship yesterday, all Peruvian led. Then we had a lesson on the armor of God. last week we learned the fruits of the Spirit. Nicchola felt led to start a prayer service with our discipleship group, so after the lesson on Sundays we have a time that is just devoted to group prayer. It is so powerful. Almost everyone prayed last night, and you can tell that prayer is really ministering to these new Christians who never had really prayed before. It is ministering to me as well to pray as a family. God is so good! To Him be all the glory!
